I really truly loved making this gown for Shannon. Not only is she gorgeous, she is also a talented photographer as well! (check here for a link to her work – she also took gorgeous photos of another one of my brides this year!) When I heard the guests feasted on fresh Maine lobster and homemade pies, it sounded all to charming to be real.

I made her gown from silk chiffon (so gorgeous and billowy in the wind) and added touches of vintage lace to the neckline, waist, and sleeve edging.

How sweet!!! (seriously, now!)

{ miss Natasha // Gold Diamond Dress }

Not only was working with Natasha so fun and easy (despite the hundreds of miles between us : she in Ontario, Canada and myself in Los Angeles)… she has quite the personality and style to pull of an amazing wedding featured on both Four Weddings Canada and Style Me Pretty Canada!!!

I reworked a gown Natasha had sent me with elements from my Gold Diamond Dress. This was the result:

I added mini ruffle detail to the sweetheart bodice, the ivory vintage sash with vintage gold diamond detail, and the 3-tiered pleated skirt detail.

When Brooke from Orange Blossom Special Events approaches me with an idea for a shoot - I know it’s going to be nothing short of super fun and amazing. This is our second shoot together (first one was the Old World Spanish Inspired Wedding) and this was totally out-of-the-box and extremely fun to make this gown!

“The Sheer Geometry” dress is a 2-piece number. Sweetheart cropped bodice with a gold lining and sheer geometry fabric and tulle overlay with black square details at front hemline. The skirt is cut on a high-low hemline and lined with a black lining and geometry fabric overlay.

And that practically perfectly paired graffiti cake provided by Vanilla Bake Shop.

How fun is the bride’s hair? The amazing Emily Dawn Artistry worked her magic in the hair and makeup department for the bride and groom.

The amazing florals and details (the groom’s boutonniere?! AWESOME!) where created by Mr. Caballero Creative.

Super bold and fun jewelry (necklace, rings, bracelets) by Jenny Dayco !

I met Danielle over a glass of wine at a cute little wine shop in Atwater Village. She said 3 magic words: short, unique and wanted to use her mom’s gown. Nothing makes me more happy than being able to take a family heirloom and create a completely new dress for a client.

Here is a photo of her mom’s wedding gown from her wedding:

I was able to take the dress and re-create 2 pieces for Danielle. For the ceremony, I made a short fitted dress out of silk charmeuse and I used the lace and buttons from her mother’s gown on the silk chiffon caplette:

And for the reception, I re-fitted her mother’s gown to make a bolero and studded it with gold details:

Miss Leigh-Ann was a dream to work with. I met her through another extremely talent friend, Melissa from Pow Wow Vintage Rentals. Melissa introduced me to Leigh-Ann and we designed the perfect dress for her extremely colourful bohemian wedding celebration. I used a mix of vintage ivory lace, ivory english netting, silk charmeuse, and vintage lace trim to create her high-low dress (as requested – I love a daring gal!). Perfect for pairing with her cute boots and handmade leather belt.

{ edge of a hem / Vogue’s new exposure contest }

This shoot was, by far, is one of my favourites to date. Of course, any chance to work with Tamar Levine is bound to be spectacular. She was chosen, along with 10 other up-and-coming fashion photographers, to create a fashion story for Vogue’s New Exposure Contest held at Milk Made studios in NYC. One of the perks of the shoot was Tamar being able to shoot with a brand new RED Epic-X camera.

We set the scene in South Pasadena’s adorable B&B called The Bissell House. The era was loosely set in the mid-late 1800 and I mixed+paired vintage period pieces from the mid-late 1800s (which are family heirlooms), some pieces I made specifically for the shoot, and some modern pieces.

{ Fruit Loops with Tamar Levine }

Tamar Levine and I had been dreaming of doing a ’60s-inspired housewife shoot for a while. And we wanted the shoot to be incredibly bright with dark undertones. And cake. Lots of cake.

And with Victoria Asher and Jon Bishop as our models, we were set!

I made the dress that Victoria is wearing. Hot pink raw silk bodice with a bright floral print skirt.

I also baked, frosted and decorated all the cakes and cupcakes. (and, yes, we all ate cake!)

{ Travel & Springtime in Amsterdam inspired wedding shoot + GWS feature }

When the lovely Sarah, from On Solid Ground Vintage Rentals, and I reconnected (we went to high school together!) and she told me about this amazingly fun shoot she was working on with a bunch of other talented vendors from the Midwest – I had to join!

I sent over the “Safari Dress” from this shoot (sans the zebra print) – which looked oh-so-lovely on this bride and worked perfectly with the style of the shoot!

How rad is this table setting? With the hanging bike?! Insane!

I then made this short little number out of a creamy white lightweight mini-wale corduroy fabric. Perfect for a spring wedding in the Midwest. Warm sunshine and cool, crisp air.
